A comprehension evaluation focuses on what parents and teachers feel are concerns regarding the child. When a evaluation is requested from Catherine, a packet of information including a Sensory Profile specific to the age level of the child is sent to the parents. This checklist gives background information regarding sensory processing and modulation patterns that the child uses in daily life. Detailed information and real-life examples of challenges in various situations also help tremendously when trying to see where strengths and needs emerge.
Catherine then uses a variety of formal and informal tests along with clinical observations to determine goals and plan of action. These tests are usually fun and interesting to the child. Catherine writes a detailed report with all test results, interpretations, goals with home and school suggestions. The report is sent to parents as well as anyone requesting it, such as doctors and teachers.
Current cost of the evaluation and report is $275.00, due at time of testing. A receipt with information and codes needed for the parents to bill their insurance agency is available. Catherine does not bill insurance to keep costs manageable.
